Y4 Perlethorpe Trip – Friday 6th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,
As part of our history topic ‘How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain?’, Year 4 will be visiting Perlethorpe Education Centre (Nottinghamshire) on Friday 6th March 2026. During the day, the children will explore how the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings invaded Britain and influenced the country we live in today.
The education centre offers a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience a Viking invasion, whilst engaging with costumes and role play. The visit will also include a hands-on workshop where the children will step back in time to become both Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. They will take part in activities such as exploring Anglo-Saxon homes and recreating a day in the life within this significant period of British history.
We will be travelling with Globe Coaches, leaving school just after registration, so please ensure your child arrives promptly at 8:45am. We expect to return to school in time for our usual home time.
As the museum has both indoor and outdoor areas, please ensure your child wears:

Their normal school uniform

A waterproof coat

Suitable shoes for walking around the site
Your child will need a packed lunch for the day. If you would like to order this from school, please choose the sandwich option and this will be provided for your child to take with them.
The cost of the trip is £26.60 per child, and we are asking for contributions via ParentPay, where you must also give your consent. Unfortunately, if we do not receive sufficient contributions, the trip may have to be cancelled.
You are welcome to pay in smaller instalments or in full at any time before the due date. Please note that no spending money is required for this trip.
This promises to be a wonderful and memorable experience for our Year 4 children, and we are really looking forward to sharing the day with them.
